HONOR SOCIETY CHILDREN'S BOOK DRIVE: Earn community service hours by donating new or gently used children's books to the Career Center before school and during options. 5 books equal 1 hour, with 2 hours being the maximum you can receive. Children books grades K-5 (ages 5-11) will only be accepted. Please choose to recycle young adult and adult books through other appropriate means. Book drive ends October 28th.
PREVIOUS INFORMATION
Seattle's National College Fair: All students!!!! Don't miss the National College Fair coming to Seattle Friday, November 4th, and Saturday, November 5th. This is a great opportunity for you to have face-time with college admissions officers and to attend valuable workshops. If you'd like to attend with other WHS students on Friday, you need to pick-up a permission slip in the Career Center. Permission slips need to be signed by your parents and teachers and are DUE FRIDAY OCTOBER 28th. We'll take a bus down from WHS Friday morning and be back in time for you to catch afternoon buses home. More information is available in the Career Center or you can speak with Mrs. Yamada.
W.S.U. Four-Year Tuition & Fees SCHOLARSHIP: If Washington State University is a school you are thinking about attending next year and you have good grades and strong test scores you may qualify for a scholarship covering ALL 4 years of tuition and fees. If you are interested please see Mrs. Yamada to see if you qualify!
Starting November 1st all absences that are not excused within 48 hours will be assigned 4 hours of Saturday School. It is WHS's policy that all absences must be excused within 48 hours. Failure to report an absence may result in an unexcused absence. Absences may be excused by having a parent/guardian call the attendance hotline or by bringing in a written note by your parent/guardian. Remember when a student accumulates three (3) or more class hours of unexcused absences in a class, regardless of total number of absences, credit is denied and no appeal can occur. 1 block period = 2 class hours of attendance.
Seniors! It is time to order your caps and gowns and other graduation items. Jostens will be here Friday, October 21st during both lunches in the commons taking your orders. Last chance to get group order discount!
