PREVIOUS INFORMATION

Today will be the LAST opportunity to buy items from the Gridiron Club during both lunches.

Starting November 1st all absences that are not excused within 48 hours will be assigned 4 hours of Saturday School.   It is WHS's policy that all absences must be excused within 48 hours.  Failure to report an absence may result in an unexcused absence.  Absences may be excused by having a parent/guardian call the attendance hotline or by bringing in a written note by your parent/guardian.  Remember when a student accumulates three (3) or more class hours of unexcused absences in a class, regardless of total number of absences, credit is denied and no appeal can occur.  1 block period = 2 class hours of attendance.

WHS Mock Trial Competition Team - Do you have a passion for acting, debate, argument or the law?  Ever thought that playing a role in a courtroom might be fun?  Ever thought it would be fun to act in a courtroom TV drama?  The WHS Mock Trial Team is looking for you - students & actors alike - to fill roles on this years' Mock Trial Team - witnesses, attorneys & bailiffs.  We'll be competing against other schools in our area in a Mock Trial that will take place in the King County Courthouse this coming February and we need you!  This Friday at 'Options' - Meet in room 123 to learn more about taking part in this years' Mock Trial Team!  For more info on Mock Trial Competition, visit Mr. Rockwood's website - www.nsd.org/trockwood .  See you this Friday in room 123!

Seniors!  It is time to order your caps and gowns and other graduation items.   Jostens will be here Friday, October 21st during both lunches in the commons taking your orders. Last chance to get group order discount!

Honor Society Community Service Opportunity: Do you need to get school-related Honor Society hours and help the community?  Honor Society's annual Book Drive is is here!  Book Drive ends October 28.  Bring in new or gently used children's books to the Career Center before school and during options.  5 books equal 1 hour, with 2 hours being the maximum you can receive.  Remember to find those old books you have at home and donate them to kids in need.  Children books grades K-5 (ages 5-11) will only be accepted.  Please choose to recycle young adult and adult books through other appropriate means.
