Support the TJH Otaku Club!
By using the barcode on the attached flyer when shopping at Barnes & Noble, Woodinville, Sunday, November 29th, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, a portion of your book or cafe purchases will help buy books and raise funds to help students attend Japanese cultural events.  A gift wrapping station will also be set up as a part of this fundraiser.  Can't make it November 29th?  No problem.  The same barcode works on November 29th, 30th and December 1st, and a portion of your purchase will help support the Club.  Friends and family can also participate at ANY Barnes & Noble on those three days and our club will receive a portion of their purchase.  If you don't have the barcode with you, just tell the cashier that you want your purchase to help support the Timbercrest Otaku Club and they will kindly look up the number.  Thank you for your support!

TCIA - Adopt A Stocking
Each winter the TJH's Community Service Club, TCIA, decorates and fills handmade stockings with gifts donated by Timbercrest students and families for 100 needy teenagers.  These teenagers live in shelters, group homes, or foster care.  Please help fill the stockings with items like toiletries, Target gift cards, small games, socks, gloves, and hats!  Students can bring their donations to den or room 204 between November 18th and December 8th.  Families can also adopt a stocking to fill.  Please email Ms. Peake at speake@nsd.org if you would like to adopt a stocking.  Thank you for your support!

Please see the attached document for information on school closure and delayed start times due to emergencies such as snow, ice, thawing roads, power outages and other weather-related problems. This information is also available on the District's web site under "Schools and the Weather".

February 9th Bond and Levy Information
Three measures are on the ballot February 9, to continue support for student learning in Northshore; a Capital Projects Bond, Renewal Education Operations Support Levy and a Technology Levy.  Together, these measures support student learning.
The $149.2 million bond would continue the District's long-range facilities plan to maintain and renovate aging schools and provide key infrastructure support such as roofs, heating systems and Internet capability for schools and classroom learning spaces.
The Renewal Education Operations Support Levy provides 20% of the District's budget for daily operations and educational programs.  It would renew the current four-year levy that expires in 2010 and would provide up to $169 million over the next four years.
The Renewal School Technology Levy would maintain and enhance classroom technology to support student learning.  It would replace the current levy that expires in 2010 and would provide $24 million over the next four years.
The school tax rate is projected to remain level with the 2010 school tax rate over the four years of the measures at $4.07 per $1,000 of assessed property value.  The District may collect only up to the amount approved by voters regardless of assessed valuation changes.  More information about these measures is available on the District website at www.nsd.org or by contacting the Communications Department at (425) 408-7670.
