Hi, my name is Kevin Tjoelker (pronounced Choker, yes I know, it's a terrible last name for a high school counselor). I grew up in Lynden, Washington. After high school, I attended Seattle Pacific University, where I received my bachelor's degree in 2000. I worked as a youth pastor for four years before I decided that I wanted to work with students in a school setting. In 2004 I started working in schools and pursuing my master's degree. In 2007, I completed my Masters of Education in School Counseling at Seattle Pacific University. This is my sixth year at Woodinville High School, and so far it has been fantastic. I have enjoyed developing relationships with the WHS community, including students, parents, faculty, and everyone else involved in making this such a great place.

In my free time I like to hang out with my family (I'm married to a school teacher, and have two young children). I also like to play tennis, ski, snowboard, play guitar, watch movies, watch football and hockey, and attempt to golf.

My job at WHS is to help students meet their academic, personal/social, and career/college planning needs. Please let me know how I can help you by emailing me at ktjoelker@nsd.org or calling me at 425-408-7421. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
