SEPAC

Special Education Parent/Professional Advisory Council (SEPAC) is an active support and advisory network. SEPAC is a group of parents, professionals, and administrators who work together for the benefit of the special needs children in the Northshore School District.  SEPAC sponsors monthly presentations, and also holds a monthly board meeting to discuss and advise on district special education programs.

SEPAC James MacDonald Inclusion Grant 2012-13 Recipients


SEPAC, as part of its mission to promote inclusive school communities, awards an annual grant up to $2,000 to a school (or schools) in the district who submit a proposal for a project, program or event which promotes the inclusion of ALL students, makes a positive difference in the community, is student-initiated and builds leadership in the student body.

The 2012-13 grant recipients are:

  • Canyon Creek Elementary School, awarded $1,600 for its "Families" project.
  • Leota Junior High School, awarded $400 to bring an enhanced version of the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program to the school.

2012-13 Presentations

SEPAC presentations are held on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. at Northshore School District's Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell, in the Dr. G.E. Ricketts Board Room. These are free events; no RSVP required. No childcare provided. Information on the topics is posted here as it becomes available.

2012-13 Meeting Schedule
 
SEPAC meetings are usually held the second Monday of the month from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
at Northshore School District's Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell, in Room 201. The meetings are free, no RSVP required and no childcare provided.

During the meeting, committee reports are given, special education directors share what is happening district-wide and systemic issues are discussed. While there is not a lot of time spent on individual issues, it is good to voice any concerns to SEPAC executive members prior to meeting start or email ideas to SEPAC Chairperson for future agenda items. In attendance are typically parents, teachers, principals and Special Education administrators.
