The Northshore School District Board of Directors approved at its Oct. 13 board meeting putting three propositions on the Feb. 9, 2010, ballot for voter approval: a bond; a four-year Renewal Education Operation Support (M&O) Levy; and a four-year Renewal School Technology Levy. The measures would continue support for student learning from school infrastructure and classroom learning spaces to teachers and programs to technology and instructional support.


Key Communicators Discuss Bond and Levies

More than 80 parents and community members joined Superintendent Francois at the Key Communicator Luncheon on Nov. 17 for a conversation about the February 9 bond and levies. These measures would continue support for student learning in Northshore. The district hosts key communicator luncheons twice a year and sends regular e-mail updates. Key communicators play a vital role in effective two-way communication between the district and the community we serve. Become a key communicator. Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences - November 19 - 25

Parent-Teacher conferences for Northshore's elementary schools will be held from November 19 - 25.  During this time, there will be no AM/PM Kindergarten and elementary schools will be operating on an early dismissal.  For a list of elementary school dismissal times, please click here.

We encourage all elementary school parents to attend their children's parent-teacher conferences.  This is one of the most valuable times in the school year for many reasons.  Read how to get the most from a parent-teacher conference by clicking here.

Skyview Junior High Student Chosen as Honoree for Seattle's Jingle Bell Run and Walk

Hannah Gordon, current 9th grade student at Skyview Junior High in Bothell, has been chosen as one of this year's honorees for the 25th Annual Seattle Jingle Bell Run and Walk to be held on December 13, 2009.  Hannah will be an ambassador for helping to raise awareness and funds for research into arthritis.  At the beginning of 7th grade, Hannah was diagnosed with enthesitis, a type of juvenile arthritis. 




EAP Parent Information Night - Dec. 1

A parent information night regarding the Elementary Advanced Program (EAP) will be held Tuesday, December 1 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Administrative Center Board Room, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell.  This program is for students currently in grades 2 - 5 for potential placement in the 2010-2011 school year.  For more information and application forms, please click here.


Opportunity for Parent Preview of 9 - 11 Grade Math Instructional Materials

The Northshore School District is concluding a math curriculum review and selection process of math textbooks for students in grades nine, ten, and eleven. 

On Thursday, December 3, 2009, the math textbooks under consideration for student use in algebra, geometry, and algebra 2 will be available for community and parent preview. The textbooks will be on display from 3 - 7p.m. at the Northshore Administrative Center in Bothell.  Math teachers who participated in the pilot textbook project will be present to answer questions about the new programs.
