Parent Preview Tenth Grade Biology Instructional Materials

The Northshore School District is concluding a curriculum review and selection process of a biology textbook for students in grade ten.  In the fall of 2012 the new instructional materials will replace the current Northshore School District biology textbooks. 

The new biology textbook will align the district’s tenth grade science curriculum and instruction with the 2009 revision of the Washington State K-12 science standards, and will prepare students for the biology End of Course Exam, a graduation requirement for the class of 2015 and beyond. 

On Wednesday, May 2nd, the biology textbook under consideration for student use in grade ten will be available for community and parent review. The textbook will be on display from 3:00 — 7:00 p.m. at the school district administration office at 3330 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell.  Biology teachers who participated in the pilot textbook project will be present to answer questions about the new program.
