Q |
What's the difference between Parent Assistant and the Online Progress Reports? |
 |
A |
Parent Assistant allows parents to eSIS information including
demographics and final quarter/semester grades, while the Online Report
Card is what teachers generate as student progress reports (teachers
may publish them weekly, bi-weekly, monthly...). This allows teachers
to communicate, allowing parents to track their student's progress
before the major grading periods. It is optional for teachers to post
their progress reports this way.
The Online Progress Report allows for parents and students to view
individual class assignments and points earned, missing assignments and
so on, while Parent Assistant shows final grades reported in eSIS.
Parents who have a Parent Assistant Login account will use this user

Q |
I've already imported my class rosters from eSIS into EGP, but now I need to add a new student to one of my classes. How should I add this student to ensure that my gradebook will still be compatible with nsd.org/progressreports? |
 |
A |
When adding a new student, simply type the student information into EGP, making sure to include the student's ID number. If a student's number is missing, the entire upload will stop. |

Q |
How do I exclude/hide an assignment? I want it in my gradebook, but I don't want to have it posted online. |
 |
A |
Let’s say you would like to hide assignments 5 and 6. Press on the column number 5 and drag to 6 so that both columns become selected. Then choose HIDE SELECTED from the View menu. You can repeat this for each assignment as desired. Next, when you save the file as Basmati, make sure to pull down the assignment menu to "Displayed Assignments Only". |

Q |
I changed my Parent Assistant password and can't log in to Progress Reports. Why? |
 |
A |
Parent Assistant accounts and passwords are transferred to the Progress Reports system on a 24-hour cycle. The transfer happens around 4:00AM each day. If you change your password during the day, you should be able to log to Progress Reports after 4:00AM the next day. |
