Answers
1)  Q When I press "finalize" my scores disappear. Help!
A

When you finish entering scores (Reports - Additional Reports - ElemAssessment Scores) and press the finalize button, you can view a report immediately (Reports - Additional Reports - ElemAssessment Report). The next school day, the scores will be available for display in Data Dashboard.

2)  Q Why can't I print an assessment report for eSIS?
A

If you have just entered your scores, eSIS is immediately available for you to view in reports (Reports - Additional Reports - Elem Assessment Report). Directions for printing can also be found on the eSIS / Data Dashboard (DDS) page. For further support, contact the Elementary TOSAs at eTOSAs@nsd.org.

3)  Q I just entered my data into eSIS. Why can't I see the data in Data Dashboard?
A

It will take up to 24 hours from the time you finalize your scores in eSIS for the data to display up in Data Dashboard.

4)  Q I've already finalized my scores and I need to make a change. What do I do?
A

To make a change after finalizing scores in eSIS, return to the Elem Assessment Scores page (Reports - Additional Reports - Elem Assessment Scores). Select the assessment (and grade level, if necessary). Enter only the scores you want to change . You will still need to save and finalize to make the scores permanent. Remember - you can view this data in eSIS reports immediately and in up to 24 hours it will display in Data Dashboard.

5)  Q Why are there no 4s in Data Dashboard for ELA, Math Benchmark, or Math Inventory scores?
A

The ELA, Math Benchmark, and Math Inventory tests assess knowledge at grade level standard. Because only grade level material is on the tests, the score alone is not sufficient data to determine if a student is performing above standard, (scoring 4).

6)  Q Should I use the cut score scales in Data Dashboard to determine my report card grades?
A

We hesitate to suggest that this scale would easily transfer to report cards because report card grades are based on multiple pieces of data. The cut scores were determined through a process with consideration of several factors (i.e. analyzation of patterns created by the cut scores across several schools, comparison with MSP data for the same classrooms, etc.).

Additionally, Data Dashboard (DDS) and its leveling system reflect the score on a specific test of grade level standards - not an overall performance for a student or an indicator of above standard performance (a score of 4).

7)  Q What constitutes a score of 4 on the report card?
A

According to the report card, a 4 is "exceeding standard." While we do not have this fully defined for NSD, OSPI has performance level descriptors (PLDs) for grades 3-8 available. www.k12.wa.us [Note that the State included descriptors for Basic (2), Proficient (3) and Advanced (4) that match what is assessed on the MSP. At this time, OSPI has not provided PLDs for grades K-2.]

8)  Q What if I have a student who does not score Independent at Level A or scored level Z in a previous trimester?
A
***New
If your student scores Below A Independent on his/her IRR, record:

(-) in the level field
Leave all other fields blank

If your student scored independently at Level Z in the previous trimester, record:

(+) in the level field
Leave all other fields blank
Re-administration of level Z is not required for students who have already shown independence at this level.
