Word documents may download as "php" files in Internet Explorer. After you download the document, you can change the filename to reflect what you were downloading, including ".doc" at the end to indicate a Word document.

For example, the document listed as "ELL Progress Report.doc" may download to your computer as "download.php". You can then click on the name of the document and change it to "ELL Progress Report.doc".
