Budget Workshops
These workshops will provide a chance to share positive ideas
about how to sustain the high quality education for which Northshore is
known. Table discussions with parents, staff, and community members
will enable all to participate. Workshops are schedule for March 3, 10 & 17 at each high school cafeteria from 7-9
p.m.

Legislative Update
Most of the bills related to K-12 education have been heard in committee, and many of them are moving through the legislative process. Most must survive the cutoff dates that begin today and continue through March 12, the last day to consider bills in their house of origin.

Washington Aerospace Scholars
WAS is
currently seeking summer residency Counselors, Mentors, and
Assistant Mentors for their summer session at the Museum of Flight. Participants will receive briefings from professionals,
attend tours of engineering facilities, and compete in hands-on
engineering challenges. Meals and lodging are provided by the WAS Foundation with an airfare or mileage reimbursement.

Teacher Travel Opportunity to China
The Cultural Exploration of Greater China Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote a better understanding of Chinese language and culture. CE is able to three teachers from Seattle the opportunity to travel to China. Hong Kong, and Taiwan. |

BECU's School Grants Program
Teachers, principals, and even PTAs can apply for grants and other school support from BECU. Grants are centered on funding educational materials and programs that directly benefit the education of students. Priority will be given to Western Washington schools on the percentage of their free and reduced school lunches. Application deadline is March 15.

2009 Retirement Planning Seminars
The Edmonds School District and the Sno-King School Retirees are co-hosting the 2009 Retirement Planning Seminars
for the Northshore employees. These sessions are provided for employees
and spouses at no cost and confirmation to attend is not necessary. Session 1 is Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

Midwinter Workshop
ESD #121 will present a Mid-Winter Workshop on March 7 at 7:30 AM at the Northshore Performing Arts Center
with featured speakers Jeremy Johnson and Gordon Linse. Cost is $15, which
includes a box lunch if paid by February 27.
