Family Literacy Nights Our first Family Literacy Night at Maywood Hills will be Kindergarten Literacy Night on Tuesday, October 2nd. The evening will begin at 6:30 with a variety of fun centers parents can try with their kindergartener. Storytime begins at 7:00. At 7:20, families can finish their projects or pack up and head home. The evening ends at 7:30. We hope many Kindergarteners and their families will join us! |
![]() Kelly Milner Halls is coming to Maywood Hills on March 20th. She is the author of Tales of the Cryptids, Dinosaur Parade, In Search of Sasquatch, Saving the Baghdad Zoo, and MANY more books. We have copies of several of her titles in the library. Kelly will be sharing her "Wonders of Weird" Presentation, where she will tell us how she researches for her books and give us tips for our own writing. Be prepared for Sasquatch footprints and dinosaur droppings! You will probably have an opportunity to purchase copies of her books and have her sign them. Don't forget to stop by the Fall Scholastic Bookfair during the Maywood Hills BBQ on September 9. We could use help setting up the bookfair after school September 7, and it will be open to preview on September 8. Purchases can be made all day September 9th, and it would be great to have some help with check out. NEW this year is the online purchase option. Students can bring in books to exchange between June 6th and June 10th. Kindergarteners will choose their books on the 9th and everyone else will choose on the 10th. Want more details? Mei Mei from the Bothell Regional Library will be visiting Maywood on Thursday, June 16 to tell us all about their new Summer reading program: One World, Many Stories. Catherine Schaeffer, the Teen Services Librarian at the Bothell Library, will be meeting with our 6th graders to explain what the library has to offer students in grades 7-12.
