Hope is Real Written by Stephanie Rairdan
Drowning in this cesspool called life, What more does is have to offer? More scars upon these wrists That have felt the kiss of the blade many times over? Or more pained memories, Refusing to fade from my memory? Surely more pleasure can be found in Hell. Darkness is what I turn to, Hiding in the shadows and running from reality. I find my escape in the confines of music, Angry screams, agony filled cries, all filling me With the emotions expressed. Demons will be there though to stalk my weak soul In hopes to take it back to their Lord’s domain. Yet through this all, I can still find comfort In the arms of him, the one who showed me That life is worth living. So here I say, While this life will drag me down, I have my ways to hold myself up And to remain strong, Even if I do not want to hold on. |
