Degrees and Certifications:
M.A. Educational Leadership City University B.A. Mathematics University of Northern Colorado
Both my wife, Nicole, and I are from Colorado and grew up in a small town called Pagosa Springs. After graduating high school in 1994, we moved to Greeley, CO so I could attend the University of Northern Colorado to pursue my teaching degree. I graduated with B.A. in Mathematics in 1998. I knew then that working with young people would be my career. I have a passion in educating young people and to be a role model to help them get a good start in life.
I started my education career in 1999 at St. Michael's High Schools in Santa Fe, New Mexico teaching Geometry and Algebra. In the spring of 2000, my wife and I decided to move to the great state of Washington. We have lived here in the Northshore Schoold District and the Kenmore Junior Service Area for the past 15 years. I was a Math teacher and coach at Timbercrest Junior High (2000-2004); Assistant Principal at Leota Junior High (2004-2008); and Principal at Northshore Junior High (2008-2015).
Nicole and I have two great children. Colten, who is now 20 and graduated from Ingelemoor High School in 2013 and is currently attending Humboldt State University. Breanna, who is 16 and a junior at Ingelmoor High School.
I look forward to begin serving as the Kenmore Junior High Principal. I encourage all of our parents to get involved with the school. Now, more than ever, it is important for the community to come together to support our students. There are a variety of ways parents can be involved. Whether you are volunteering to help with lunch supervision, helping with library inventory, volunteering for after school activities, chaperoning at a dance, or simply willing to stuff envelopes, we can work together to support the needs of our students. Any support and partnerships we can create, will not only allow Kenmore Junior High to be more successful, but will also support the success of your child.
